Haven was never meant to start a breeding program. She was simply our family dog. But from the very beginning, there was something undeniably special about her. It was through Haven that our vision for 5280 Bernedoodles was born. We realized that the experience she gave us was something worth sharing. We wanted other families to feel that same sense of comfort, connection, and happiness that only a truly exceptional dog can bring.
Our program first took shape in Colorado, where our name—5280—pays homage to our beginnings at a mile above sea level. There, we laid the foundation for a breeding program built on thoughtful intention, ethical practices, and a commitment to raising puppies in a hands-on, nurturing environment. Every decision—from pairing to early development—is made with care, always prioritizing temperament, health, and long-term well-being.
As we’ve recently relocated our breeding program to Arizona, our surroundings have changed, but our philosophy has not. If anything, our dedication has only deepened. We continue to raise each puppy in our home, where they are loved, socialized, and gently guided through their earliest stages of life. This intentional start allows them to grow into confident, well-adjusted companions, ready to seamlessly join their forever families.
